Domain Industry Growth
July 18, 2007 on 10:44 pm | In Domain Names |The domain industry (the buying, selling and monetization of domains) is currently worth an estimated $2 billion. But according to an article on Law.com, industry experts say the domain industry’s value could reach $4 billion by 2010. The article also states that about 90,000 new domains are registered a day. The total number of registered domains is about 130 million currently. I’d say there are very good times ahead for generic domain owners, as the value of domains will continue to go up and more corporate end users will understand the benefits of owning a premium .com domain name!
